One dead in clash at Rohingya camp

A clash between the families of a bride and groom at a Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar left one dead and eight others injured, say police.
Two people have been detained over the incident late on Saturday at the Balukhali refugee camp in Ukhiya, said Superintendent Md Shihab Kaiser Khan of the local unit of
 the Armed Police Battalion.
Forty-year-old Mohammad Belal was among the nine people who were taken to the state-run hospital in Ukhiya upazila town, where doctors declared him dead, he said.
Police detained the bride’s brother Haresur Rahman and cousin Anwar Sadek following the clash, said the senior police officer.
Nine members of the families of the bride and the groom were taken to Ukhiya Upazila Health Complex, where Belal was declared dead.
“Four of the injured have been sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment,” added the local APBn chief.
