Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) is going to add 404 additional posts to accommodate the additional demand as required by the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to BPSC sources, the BPSC will publish the final results of the 43rd BCS examination including the newly-introduced 404 posts to fill up a total of 2,218 vacant posts in various cadres.
Out of the new 404 posts, 195 posts are being increased in agriculture cadre, 82 in taxation, 84 in livestock, 24 in food and 19 in railway (engineering) cadre.
For the first time, the BPSC is going to release cadre and non-cadre post simultaneously. This year, the BPSC will come out the 1,342 non-cadre post with the cadre post.
More than 4 lakh 35 thousand candidates took part in the BCS preliminary examination held on 29 October 2021. The result of this examination was published on January 20, 2022 where a total of 15 thousand 220 candidates were selected for the written examination.
The written examination was held on July, 2022 where a total of 9,841 aspirants passed the test.
Seeking anonymously, a PSC member said, “403 or 404 cadre posts may be increased.
These new posts are in agriculture, food, railways, taxation and livestock.” Two Deputy Directors of Examination Wing (Cadre) of PSC also provided similar information.
“The result will be published within this week. Results for the cadre posts are ready. Some tasks for non-cadre post are left,” they added.
Meanwhile, some result aspirants have been protesting demanding to increase non-cadre posts and release of cadre and non-cadre results separately.
When asked, BPSC Chairman Md Sohorab Hossain told to the media, “Who is protesting for what demands, it is not our concern.
We are working to complete the recruitment recommendation process at the earliest as sought by the Ministry of Public Administration.
