Police FC earn emphatic win as Edis scores hat-trick

Colombian forward Edis Horacio Ibargüen García slammed a brilliant hat-trick as ten men Bangladesh Police Football Club, came from behind, registered an overwhelming 4-1 goals victory over Brothers Union Club in their last round first leg match of Bangladesh Premier League football held at Rajshahi District Stadium in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Apart from Edis Horacio Ibargüen García three goals in the match, Syed Shah Quazem Kirmane supported him with a lone goal for Police FC.

Midfielder Rabby Hossen Rahul netted a lone goal for Police FC.

Rahul put Brothers Union Club ahead in the 43rd minute while Kirmane restored the parity for Police in the 45+2nd minute of the match.

Edis further widened the margin scoring the second goal for Police FC in the 52nd minute and made the score line 3-1 scoring his second for his team in the 72nd minute of the match.

Edis completed the winners’ tally scoring his hat-trick goal in the 79th minute of the match.

Mithu of Police FC was shown red card following his double yellow card.

Police FC dominated the proceeding, especially in the second half and notched their deserving victory on the day while the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club were off-colored except the day’s lone goal they scored in the first half.

With the day’s victory, Police finished second position in the league table with ten points from nine matches while Brothers Union Club remained bottom of the table with three points playing the same number of matches.

In the other match, Fortis Football Club registered their third win in their last match of the first round Bangladesh Premier League football beating Chittagong Abaani Limited by 2-0 goals held at Shaheed Bir Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
