‘Police will work to ensure peaceful polls’

Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Habibur Rahman has said police force will perform duties impartially in line with the election commission’s rules and regulations during the upcoming national elections to be held on January 7, 2024.

“We will work to ensure peaceful elections by maintaining neutrality,” he said while addressing a pitha festival held at Shaheed SI Shiru Mia Auditorium in Rajarbagh Police Lines on Thursday, reports BSS.

While addressing the festival initiated by himself to encourage police forces, the DMP commissioner said Pitha has a special place in Bangladeshi culture.
