Rangpur division 29 lakh students to get new books

Young students of 8 districts of Rangpur division will get new books free of cost on the first day of next academic year. Meanwhile, 100 per cent of the textbooks have reached the district and upazila towns.
Rangpur Divisional Primary Education Department Deputy Director (Acting) Md. Mujahidul Islam said that the total number of government primary schools in 8 districts of this division is 9 thousand 544. The number of students in these schools is 14 lakh 43 thousand 360 people. Apart from this, there are 14 lakh 84 thousand 97 students of different category schools. As a result, the total number of students is 29 lakh 27 thousand 457 people. Among them, the number of pre-primary students is 4 lakh 79 thousand 88, 5 lakh 46 thousand 212 in the first class, 5 lakh 33 thousand 692 in the second class, 4 lakh 99 thousand 833 in the third class, 4 lakh 56 thousand 417 in the fourth class and 4 lakh 11 thousand 315 in the fifth class. Three textbooks each for first and second and six textbooks each for third, fourth and fifth class students will be distributed.
