Road accidents leave four people dead in 3 districts

At least four people were killed and four others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in three districts on Friday night and Saturday morning.

In Bogura, a 20-year-old youth was killed and three others were injured in a road accident when a private car lost its control and hit a roadside tree at Shitolai Club Ghor area of Bogura’s Kahaloo upazila on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Aliur Rahman Alif, 20, a resident of Sutrapur Riyaz Kazi Len area under Bogura district.

Selim Reza, officer-in-charge of Kahalu Police Station, said Alif was returning home from Kahaloo driving his car.

When he reached Shitolai area, Alif lost control over his steering and crashed into the roadside tree, leaving four people injured They were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where Alif succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital, added the OC.

The body was handed over to the family at noon, he added.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was killed and another man was injured when a truck hit them at Palsha area of Bogura Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased Mokaddes Hossain was an employee of a private company from Choto Dangapara village of Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district.

Confirming the matter, Shahinuzzaman, investigation officer of Bogura Sadar Police Station, said the injured was taken to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

In Chuadanga, a minor boy was killed when an easy bike hit him at Darshana-Mujibnagar road of Chuadanga zilla on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Samad, son of Ahad Ali of Pratappur village of Darshana upazila.

Eyewitnesses said Samad was playing beside the road. Around 12:30pm, the speeding easy-bike hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Darshana Police Station’s Officer in charge Biplob Kumar Saha said, police detained the driver and took the easy-bike into police custody.

In Lalmonirhat, a man died when a truck hit him at College Mor area of Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Golam Mostofa, 45, from Shamsherpur village of Lalmoniraht’s Patgram upazila.

Patgram Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Ferdoush Wahid confirmed the matter.
