Locals suspected that the members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) might have left the RPG while intruding into Bangladesh territory.

Earlier on February 5, last Monday, two people in Bangladesh died after a mortar shell reportedly fired from Myanmar landed and exploded in an under-construction site on the Bangladesh side along the Ghumdhum border.

Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) and army personnel have been taking shelter in Bangladesh amid clashes between the Myanmar military and the armed rebel group, Arakan Army.

The number of Myanmar security forces that have taken shelter in Bangladesh so far stands at 330.
