The process of finding artistes from all over the
country is going on for inclusion in the list of songs
on Bangladesh Television (BTV). And in the final round of this process, country’s famous musician Rumana Islam is serving as one of the judges.
Rumana Islam said that songs of several artistes
have been heard from all over the country.
Along with her, there are also legendary composer
and music director Sheikh Sadi Khan and
music director Shahin Sardar as judges.
Regarding talking in this regard, Rumana Islam told this correspondent, “Before this, I worked as a judge
of various reality shows. But BTV is a little different. Because I like the process of BTV’s artists’ searching. Artistes from all over the country participate in it
with great interest to enroll themselves in BTV.
Let’s say everyone is quite serious. In between
we got some good artistes. I believe that if they
continue to practice, they will definitely be able
to do well in the future. Once I was new too.
I have come to today’s position through effort and hard work. So I believe, now those who are new can definitely do better one day with their own efforts.”
Meanwhile, Rumana Islam is a bit busy in this
year’s stage season. In the meantime, she has
performed music at a function of the Officer’s Club.
Mainly in Rumana Islam’s voice, country songs
and modern songs those are more melodious.
Rumana Islam’s father Khan Ataur Rahman
was an eminent actor, director, composer and
storyteller. As a child of such a father,
Rumana Islam always felt proud of herself.
During childhood, Rumana Islam also acted
in movies. She first acted in the movie ‘Apon Por’ directed by Khan Ataur Rahman.
Rumana Islam’s last released original song
is Jamal Hossain written ‘Ekhono Shrabon Jhoray’.
The song is composed by Ujjal Sinha.
Rumana Islam lent her voice for playback for the first time in the movie ‘Din Jai Kotha Thake’.
Two songs in his voice titled ‘Mayer Moto Apon Keho Nai’ and ‘Mon Majhi Tor Boitha Nere Ami Ar Baite Parlam Na’ in this movie are very popular.
