Runa Laila mesmerises London audience

Legendary singer Runa Laila went
to London on November 19. Basically she went there to pass time with her daughter Tani Laila and two grandchildren. In the meantime, 50 years
of friendship between Bangladesh and India was also observed in London.
A special programme was organized at Hotel Marriot in London where
limited audience got the opportunity to enjoy the show. In the programme, Runa Laila first rendered the song Ganga Aamar Maa, which lyrics were written by Shibdas Banerjee and music was composed by Bhupen Hazarika. Then Runa performed her most
popular song Dama Dam Mast Qalandar. Audiences were mesmerised with the performance of Runa.
From London Runa Laila told this correspondent over mobile phone that on the occasion of 50 years of independence of Bangladesh, a special programme is going to arrange in London on Victory Day, December 16. She is expected to perform there. “I am passing very good times with my daughter Tani and two grandchildren in London. I will come to Bangladesh April 2022. During this time I will
stay in London,” said the singer.
