Court Correspondent :
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Monday) set October 29 for submission of the probe report in the case lodged against former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha for allegedly demanding bribe.
Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder of the CMM Court fixed the new date as the Investigation Officer of the case and Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Syed Iqbal Hossain did not submit the report yesterday.
Earlier on August 6, the court set September 23 for submitting the report in the bribery case.
Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA) Chairman Barrister Nazmul Huda filed the case against the former Chief Justice on September 27, last year with the capital’s Shahbagh Police Station.
The complainant alleged that the then Chief Justice Sinha, being instigated, changed the verdict of a case against him in spite of the fact that the case was earlier disposed of at the High Court Division.
