Two killed as truck rams motorcycle

Two motorcycle riders were killed after being hit by a reckless truck in Kulaura, Moulvibazar. The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon, when the truck hit a motorcycle in the Begmanpur area of the Kulaura-Juri regional highway.
The victims are: Abu Sufian (50) son of Yakub Mia of North Rahimpur village of Fultala Union of Juri Upazila and Narsingh Bunarjee (35) son of Surendra Bunarjee of Fultala tea garden.
It is known that on Tuesday afternoon, businessman Abu Sufian left Phultala for Kulaura on a motorcycle. He was killed on the spot when the motorcycle collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Narsingha Benarjee who was with him was seriously injured, the locals rescued him and took him to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where he too died. After the incident, the killer driver left the truck and fled.
The police recovered the truck and brought it to Kulaura police station.
Fultala Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Alim Selu has confirmed that two people died in the road accident.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kulaura police station Ali Mahmud said that in this accident, one person was killed on the spot and the other died on the way to the hospital. The killer driver is on the run since the incident.
