Bangladesh prominent umpire Sharfuddoulla Ibne Shohid Saikat is set to officiate in the upcoming West Indies-Australia series, confirmed to Cricfrenzy.
Recently, Saikat became the first Bangladeshi umpire to appear in the ODI World Cup tournament. He officiated in a total of five matches including the Australia-New Zealand match in World Cup 2023.
In addition, the 44-year-old umpire served as the fourth umpire in three matches, including the England-New Zealand opening match, and as a television umpire in three more matches.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Umpires Committee Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Mithu confirmed the development to Cricfrenzy on Wednesday.
