 Mymensingh Free Day will be observed here today in a befitting manner.
On this day in 1971, the valiant freedom fighters liberated Mymensingh by defeating Pakistani occupation forces.
 Different organisations including the District Administration and Muktijoddha Sangsad Sangsad jointly chalked out a week-long programme to celebrate the day. The programme includes Bejoy rally which will start from Chota Bazar Mukto Moncha today 10 am, a documentary film will be screened on Liberation War, discussion and cultural function. Besides, upazilas of the district will celebrate the day following different programmes.

Narail Free Day is today as on the day of 1971, the then sub-division under Jashore district was freed from the clutches of Pakistan occupation forces and freedom fighters hoisted the flag of independent Bangladesh in the town.
To observe the day, District Administration and Sadar Upazila Unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad have taken up an elaborate programmes including hoisting national and organisational flags in the morning at its offices in the district, placing wreaths at Baddhovumi (killing ground) near judge court, mass graveyard on water development board office premises and the martyrs memorial, holding colourful rally in the town and discussion.

Gafargaon liberated on December 9

On the 9th December in 1971, valiant freedom fighters (FPs) liberated Gafargaon under Mymensingh defeating the Pakistan occupation forces who explosive blasted on the town. The occupation forces also came to Gafargaon and burnt a lot of houses, killing innocent people, raping women, oppressed people brutally.
On this day in 1971, a team of our many freedom fighters led company commander Major Afser Bahini from hidden place under the leadership by him attacked the Pakistani Bahini and defeated to the freedom fighters.
They were compelled to flee away from the town. On the occasion of the day , the local freedom fighters arranged various programmes.
