State Minister for Finance Wasika Ayesha Khan MP commented that Sheikh Hasina’s government has brought revolutionary changes in the communication sector in the last one and a half decades She said, Bangabandhu tunnel is a big example.. Since one side of this tunnel is in my upazila, I am a little more excited about this achievement. Not only communication, 8.5 lakh landless, homeless families have been rehabilitated.Personally, I was inspired by this initiative and built houses for 110 families in my area. She said these things during an exchange with the media workers of Chittagong at Circuit House on Saturday (March 9) morning.
Wasika Ayesha Khan, the first woman state finance minister in the country’s history, also said that Bangladesh has reached a different height with the help of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh today is a wonder of development to the whole world. Now the conversion of skilled manpower is going on. With the foresight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla is now transforming into Smart Bangladesh.
Regarding the dollar crisis and hundi, the finance minister said that hundi is very harmful for the country. The government is vigilant against hundi. Journalists can play the biggest role in creating awareness against hundi.
Journalists can play an important role in discouraging hundi through their writings as well as convincing common people how harmful hundi is to a country. He said that he will present to the government the issue of increasing the income incentives of expatriates to prevent hundi.
