Aussies Women’s Cricket team to arrive Dhaka on March 17

Australia Women’s Cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on March 17 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team.

All the ODI matches and T20I matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital’s Mirpur.
If big teams come to Bangladesh, they need tight security.

Australia Cricket team also need tight and high profile security during their tour of Bangladesh.

A delegate team of Australia High Commission met with the members of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and also visited SBNCS. Head of Women’s Wing of the BCB Habibul Bashar Sumon confirmed this matter on Wednesday.

Habibul Bashar said to the newsmen, ” The members of Australia Women’s Cricket team will get such kind of security protocol, which the Men’s Cricket team of any country get during their tour of Bangladesh.

We acknowledged them that they will get such kind of protocol security according to the total condition of Bangladesh.”

Bashar said, ” Australia Women’s Cricket team are strong side. They have some world class cricketers. It is a challenge for us to face them. Our girls get a chance to take preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup.”

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team have already got Test status. But Sumon said, ” We want to play Test matches after two years. If our girls can play First Class Cricket Competitions for two years, then it will be better for us to play Test cricket.”

Earlier, Australia Women’s Cricket team arrived in Bangladesh for only one time. It was 2014, when they came Bangladesh.

Bangladesh will take on Australia in the first ODI match on March 21. The Tigresses will face the Aussies in the second ODI match on March 24. Bangladesh will meet Australia in the third ODI match on March 27.

All the matches will start at 9:30am. The three-match ODI series is part of ICC ODI Women’s Championship.

Bangladesh will play against Australia in the first T20I on March 31. The Tigresses will face the Aussies in the second T20I on April 2. Bangladesh will play against Australia in the third T20I on April 4.

All the T20I matches will begin at 12:00pm.
Australia Women’s Cricket team will leave the capital for home on April 5.
