The Bangladesh Palestine Solidarity Committee organized a protest rally titled ‘Women and children consolidation rally’ against Zionism and western imperialism and demanded an immediate end to the occupation and massacre of Israelis in Gaza.
They staged the rally in front of National Museum at Shahbagh where academics, politicians, leaders, poets, writers and activists from progressive and leftist organizations joined the rally.
Prof Emeritus Serajul Isam Chowdhury, a renowned academic, critic and columnist, was present as a chief guest at this programme and marked the acts of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netaniyahu as the ‘new Hitler’ and the western media as the ‘new Goebbels’ who are patronizing the crimes against human kind and framing their deeds as legal using their media as like Joshep Goebbles did for Hitlar.
The Emeritus Professor also mentioned the Palestinians people as representatives of the tortured and oppressed people of the world.
He said, “The incidents that are happening in the Gaza are not anything normal. These are the outcry of the all people of the world.”
Expressing support and sympathy for Palestinians, he said, “Those who are marking the Israeli genocide as the war of Hamas, are the slaves to neo-Goebbels and imperialism.
We are not only against Hitler and Goebbels, but we are against the system that supported and produced Hitler and Goebbels.”
Different progressive parties came to the rally with procession caring banner-placards to press their demand and bringing Palestine flag on their hand.
Besides, some children drawn picture of the massacre in Gaza while a portrait of a dead body of child was stayed at the side of the rally. Poets and different cultural groups, however, also protested the ongoing atrocities in protest songs and poems.
Expressing deep consolidation with the people of Gaza and West Bank, president of socialist women forum, Shompa Boshu said, “We are always standing with you, Palestinians.
Palestine has to be free from Israeli Zionism and western imperialism which is directly patronizing Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.”
CPB women cell president Tahera Begum said, “From the last October, the Zionism and their supporters are openly and directly committing crimes against the women, children and the people of Gaza in the name of war against Hamas.”
