BWDB gets new ADG

Md. Zahirul Islam joined as the new Additional Director General (ADG) (Planning, Design and Research) of Bangladesh Water Development Board Engineer on March 24.

Prior to joining the said post, he worked as the Chief Engineer (Pur) in North-West Region, BWDB Rajshahi.

He obtained his B.Sc in Civil Engineering degree from the then BIT now (RUET), Rajshahi in 1989 AD. He joined Bangladesh Water Development Board as Assistant Engineer (PUR) in 1993 AD.

Later he served successfully in various important offices of the Board as Sub-Divisional Engineer, Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer.

He also served in various important positions at the planning, design and field level of the working board.

During his more than 31 years of service in the Water Development Board, he successfully applied the knowledge acquired by participating in various seminars and trainings in Germany, Thailand, South Korea, United Kingdom and the Netherlands in the work of the Board.

Engineer Md. Zahirul Islam was born in 1966 in a noble Muslim family of Tangail district.

He is a Life Member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (OUI).
