It is most essential to commissioning of the Pahartali Hajj office in Port city Chattogram as Divisional Hajj Office for the greater interest of the Hajj pilgrims. It is opined in the meeting of Hajj Jatri Kalyan Parishad (HJKP) on Tuesday last by the participants.
The discussants in the meeting said all activities of Hajj pilgrims are Dhaka centred and so the divisional based Hajj pilgrims are being deprived of different benefits as they have to run towards Dhaka frequently.
They further said in the big cities of Indonesia, India and Pakistan, there are every facilities for Hajis existing including Hajj camp from each city. On the other hand, despite the areas of Bangladesh are small but large population, all hajj activities are centred in Dhaka which is not acceptable , speakers told . As a result, Dhaka based activities are mishandled due to heavy work pressures as well as the transportation to and from Dhaka is unbounded. Mentionaable that Chattogram Hajj camp is involved with Hajj activities more than a century. Chattogram have large Haji camp and an international Airport, speakers added. The meeting was presided by its President Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury following the welcome address by its Secretary General Principal Dr. Abdul Karim duly moderated by Saleh Ahmad Suleman.
