Chattogram Bureau :
Administrator of Chattogram city corporation Khoshed Alam Sujan, said Bangladesh Export Processing Zone (BEPZA) is making a significant contribution to the national economy, The Administrator said the city’s two largest EPZs have run their daily trade and business using the two CCC road infrastructures. In this case, CCC can get a minimum service charge from them. With which the road infrastructure reform and development of the city is possible.
Sujan made the remarks during a meeting with the chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) at the BEPZA office on Thursday last.
He said good quality roads and infrastructure are needed for the movement of vehicles. But it is not possible for Chattogram City Corporation (CHC) alone. BEPZA’s partnership in meeting this expenditure will benefit not only the people of Chattogram but also the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone.
In many cases, BEPZA gets tax relief from the government. Since the City Corporation is going through a lot of services to keep their industry clean, including the garages, considering that if the City Corporation gets a minimum service charge, it will be marked as a real contribution.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones (BEPZA) Chairman Major General SM Saluddin Islam, responding to the administrator’s statement, said that after taking over as administrator, Chattogram has played a good role in keeping the city clean and beautiful in a short time, which deserves praise. I will inform the higher authorities about the service charge and will cooperate in this regard. He thanked the CCC administrator for keeping the EPZ area clean.
Chief Executive Officer of CCC Kazi Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Chief Revenue Officer Mofidul Alam, Private Secretary to the Administrator Mohammad Abul Hashem, General Manager of EPZ Misbah Uddin Misbah, Private Secretary to BEPZA Chairman Ali Ishtiaq and others were present at the occasion.
