Court for crocking properties of Ex-IGP Benazir

A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered the authorities concerned to freeze and attach all moveable and immovable properties belonging to former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed in connection with the allegations of corruption brought against him.

Of these, 33 bank accounts were frozen and properties about 83 deeds were attached.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams passed the order following Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Prosecutor (PP) Mahmud Hossain Jahangir’s petition.

In the order, the court directed the authorities to seize the land properties encompassed by 83 deeds in Gopalganj district.

However, details of the matter could not be known immediately. Meanwhile, ACC Deputy Director Md Hafizul Islam is the Inquiry Officer of the matter.
