India Women’s Cricket team beat Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team by 44 runs in their first Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, India made a fighting total of 145 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh scored 101 for the loss eight wickets in 20 overs.
Bangladesh faced an early debacle as they lost four wickets for 30 runs.
Then, Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter built the most remarkable partnership scoring together 32 runs in the fifth wicket stand Shorna Akter was caught by Sajeevan Sajana off Radha Yadav when the Tigresses total was 62 for the loss of five wickets.
Then, Bangladesh batters failed to make any notable partnership.
Nigar Sultana hit a captain’s knock of 51. His 48-ball innings had five fours and a sixer. She restored some parity for her country.
Murshida Khatun and Shorna Akter could reach the double digit figures making 13 and 11 runs respectively.
Renuka Singh of India grabbed three wickets at the cost of 18 runs, while Pooja Vastraker captured two wickets in the space of 25 runs.
Besides, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil took one wicket apiece.
Earlier, Yastika Vatia, Shafali Varma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Gosh of India shone with the willow making 36, 31, 30 and 23 runs respectively.
Rabeya Khan captured three wickets instead of 23 runs, while Marufa Akter claimed two wickets giving 13 runs respectively.
Fariha Trisna and Fahima Khatun took one wicket for 23 and 31 runs respectively.
Renuka Singh was adjudged the Player of the Match.
