Flesh sold calling venison: Lifted pregnant cow slaughtered in Sundarbans

Some 3 thieves lifted a pregnant cow belonging to a poor farmer named Nazrul Jamaddar of village Baudhamari within Chila Union under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district, took it into the deep forest of Sundarbans where it was slaughtered and sold its flesh as venison (flesh of deer) among the buyers very secretly over mobile phone on Sunday in a broad daylight, according to a report received here. In this connection a theft case was lodged with Mongla Thana.
It is learnt from the police and some other sources that poor Nazrul Jamaddar, the owner of the lifted and slaughtered pregnant cow was the main source of his income. On the day he released his cow in a grassy field in order to graze there. But afternoon when he went the field he did not find his white colored cow. Then he searched hither and thither, but no trace of the cow was found. Later, he came to know that Mukul Shaikh (26), son one Shahjahan Shaikh, Babul Shaikh (37), son of one Hamed Shaikh and Sajjak Bepari, son of one Afzal Bepari hail from the adjacent Sundarban Union lifted the cow and took it into the deep forest of Sundarbans where they slaughtered the cow and sold its flesh in the name of venison over mobile phone. But when it was leaked out that it is not the flesh (Venison) of deer, but it is the flesh of a pregnant cow.
