In a startling revelation, the Chairman of ‘Child and Old Age Care’ Ashram, Milton Samaddar, has been implicated in a disturbing case involving the abuse of children and elderly individuals within his care facility.
The shocking details were disclosed by Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Detective Branch), during a press briefing at the DB office on a somber Monday afternoon.
Addressing the media, DB Chief Mohammad Harun Or Rashid described a harrowing scenario of abuse inflicted by Milton Samaddar, who, fueled by a habit of consuming yaba drugs, resorted to abhorrent acts against vulnerable members of society.
The DB Chief emphasized that Milton’s own admission of yaba use underscored the severity of his actions.
Furthermore, the abuse captured on camera and circulating widely across social media platforms depicted an appalling level of cruelty within the ashram’s confines.
DB Chief Rashid remarked, “The level of torture in his torture cell was inhumane and incredible. No one can beat innocent children and old people like this except a drug addicted people.”
It was revealed that Milton Samaddar had exploited his role as chairman to deceive the public under the guise of a humanitarian enterprise.
He purportedly amassed funds under false pretenses, masquerading as a benefactor for the elderly, orphaned children, and mentally vulnerable individuals.
It has been revealed that Samaddar exploited his role as chairman to amass significant funds through deceitful means, diverting these resources for personal use rather than the intended welfare of the needy.
Furthermore, Samaddar’s reprehensible conduct extended to the abuse of elderly residents, a revelation that has shaken the very foundation of trust and compassion associated with care facilities.
In a shocking admission to authorities, Samaddar confessed to a history of drug abuse, a factor that significantly contributed to his abhorrent treatment of elderly men and women under his care.
Despite exhaustive inquiries, law enforcement agencies have found no evidence linking Samaddar to human trafficking.
However, the scope of his deception and maltreatment has prompted swift action from local authorities and community leaders.
In response to these grave revelations, the Alhaj Shamsul Haque Foundation based in Chattogram has emerged as a beacon of hope for the affected individuals.
Nasir Uddin, Chairman of the Foundation, has pledged unwavering support to ensure the well-being of the elderly, children, and sick individuals previously under Samaddar’s authority.
Notably, all responsibilities related to the ashram have been temporarily transferred to the Alhaj Shamsul Haque Foundation under the direction of law enforcement.
The Foundation has already taken proactive steps by appointing a dedicated doctor to oversee the health and welfare of the ashram’s occupants, embodying a commitment to restoring dignity and compassion to those in need.
