Dilara Zaman in title role of short film Omar Faruker Maa

Zahidur Rahman Biplob for the first has made a short film titled Omar Faruker Maa. Ekushey Padak winner veteran actress Dilara Zaman played the title role in the film. Biplob completed shooting of the short film which got Tk 10 lkah grant in 2017-2018. But a little bit works of the film yet not done. Director Biplob informed that after finishing all activities of the movie, he will submit it to the Censor Board. It is mentionable that martyred freedom-fighter Omar Faruk’s sister Salma also acted in the short film. Main story of the film was written by director Biplob and Masum Reza wrote its script. While talking about acting in role of Omar Faruk’s mother, Dilara Zaman shared her feelings by this way, “When I knew freedom-fighter Omar Faruk’s mother is alive,
I went to Pirojpur to meet her. She cannot talk now but only touched me. While acting in her role I cried from my soul. In front of the camera, I cried but from backside everybody also cried during shooting. That mother does not close the door as she believes one day her son Omar Faruk will return home. Biplob gave huge efforts for making the short film.”
Meanwhile, Dilara Zaman acted in role of Bangabandhu’s mother in Shyam Benegal’s biopic on Bangabnadhu. According to her, to act in this role is her one of the greatest achievements of acting career. She said that next few days
she will be engaged with shooting of Afzal Hossain and Bodiul Alam Khokon’s
drama and movie.
Film director Biplob said, “Basically story of the short film is based on a true story of
martyred freedom-fighter
of Pirojpur Omar Faruk’s mother. Story revolves with her. Respected legendary actress Dilara Zaman Apa acted outstandingly well in the role of Omar Faruk’s mother in the film. There is nothing to say about her acting. Viewers find the shadow of their mothers
in her. I am very much
optimistic about the film.”
