The post of principal of Bhangura Union High School and College has been lying vacant for 3 years in pabna district.
This institution is about hundred years old. Assistant Head Teacher Rafiqul Islam is working as an acting principal.
It is learnt that former head teacher Zaidur Rahman was given extension for another five years after he had retired on April 13, 2010. Meanwhile the school was upgraded to a higher secondary level; the post of head teacher was transformed into the principal. However, the Principal is not available because there is no MPO. For this reason experienced principal can’t be appointed.
In the mean time the acting headmaster created various problems in the college and public examinations. This caused severe displeasure among teachers and guardians. In the current SSC examination, at least two students could not appear the ICT examination due to the negligence of the Assist. Head teacher as Hall Secretary.
Due to not being a full-time Principal, this school and college is likely to face various adversities in the process of nationalization. However, president of the school’s GB Alhaj Md Amirul Islam said that the school is on the process of nationalization and MPO in college level. `Hopefully soon we will be able to appoint a full-fledged principal here’, he said.
