Raisa Zannat Khan is a popular musician of this generation who is a huge fan of cricket. Whatever time she gets outside of music, she is busy with cricket. As she likes to watch discussions about cricket, the singer also likes to participate in
discussions about cricket. Raisa’s voice can be used appropriately in the music arena. Sometimes looking for the unique voice of the music director, looking for the sweet melodious voice, Raisa’s voice is 100 per cent like that. So, Raisa’s voice
can be easily trusted especially for movie songs or modern songs.
Meanwhile, Raisa usually sings songs in stage shows. Although there was no opportunity to sing songs in the stage show during the month of Ramadan, Raisa is trying to become a regular in the stage show again from the Pahela Baishakh. Last April 21, she
performed a song at a homely event where as her co-artiste was the popular musician of this time Protik Hasan.
While talking in this regard, Raisa told this correspondent, “I like to sing song. Stay immersed in the music. In the meantime, I am trying to be regular in the stage show. I have to sing commercial songs in stage shows. But since my childhood, I have been inspired by listening to Lataji’s songs. I always love her singing more. Along with the old days music that pulls me more. Since I don’t have one of my original songs, if I had, I could sing. My voice is fuller now than before. I feel comfortable singing songs that go with my voice.”
Being inspired by the music of the famous singer of the subcontinent, Lata Mangeshkar, Raisa considered her music as her role model in life and she has kept herself involved with music since childhood.
According to Raisa, she started practicing music while staying in her
village home in Noakhali. Later when
she came to Dhaka, she learned music from Basu Chatterjee for some time.
Raisa said that she got the main idea about
the song from Basu Chatterjee. Her first original song titled ‘Kashful’ was released a decade ago from Laser Vision.
The song was written by Rahul Mahfuz Joy, the tune was composed by Mahmud Sani. After the release of the song, Raisa responded well.
