The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) will be held at the different venues across the country in October.
The grouping and schedule of ICC Women’s T20 World was announced at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city on Sunday last. But it was not a complete grouping and schedule. The grouping was finalized on Wednesday.
The final match of the qualifying round of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was held at the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. Scotland lost to Sri Lanka in the final of the qualification round of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Thus, Sri Lanka emerged as the champions of the qualifying round, while Scotland became runners-up in the qualifying round.
A total of 10 teams splitting into two groups will take part in the final round of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh, South Africa, England, West Indies and Scotland are in Group-B, while Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in Group-A.
The inaugural matches will be held on October 3.
Top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals. The first semi-final will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on October 17, while the second semi-final will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on September 18.
The final will be held on October 20.
Bangladesh will take on Scotland in their opening match on October 3. The Tigresses will play against England on October 5. Bangladesh will face West Indies on October 9.
The hosts will meet South Africa on October 12. All the matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
