Stolen machine, vans recovered in Baraigram, arrest 2

Stolen shallow machine, battery run auto-vans were recovered in Baraigram upazila of Natore. Rabiul Islam (26) son of Didar of Jamaidighi village and Nazim (30) son of Mostafa Hossain of Koyen village of upazila have been arrested by the police in connection with these thefts. According to local and police sources, Rabiul Islam and Nazim were arrested by the people of Dhanaidah area while stealing a battery operated auto van from Sona Molla’s house of Koyen village of the upazila at around 12 noon on Monday. Later they were handed over to the police. According to their confession, the police recovered a shallow machine, another active battery-operated auto van and 4 batteries, body and parts of another van from Dhanaidah and Koyen areas on Monday night.
Officer-in-Charge of Baraigram Police Station. Shafiul Azam Khan said on Tuesday that a case has been registered regarding theft. The two thieves have been sent to jail through court.
The owner got back the stolen 4 electric meters for Tk 24,000 in Baraigram

The owners of four mills got back the stolen meters for Tk 24,000 in Baraigram upazila of Natore. According to the instructions given by the thief, the owners got the meters from the middle of the crop field of Koyen village of the upazila at around five o’clock on Monday afternoon.
According to local sources, 2 meters were stolen from rice and oil mills of Mizanur Rahman Majnu Shah, 1 meter from rice mill of Nasim Molla and another 1 meter from Chira mill of Sabuj Ali of Koyen village of the upazila on the night of March 16. Meters are connected to electrical poles in unprotected condition. However, the thieves write down Bikash number for contact in place of the meter. Later, after a phone negotiation, the owners got the meters back in exchange of money. The victims did not file any case at the police station because of threat of the thief gang.
