Fortune Barishal emerged as the champions in the Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket defeating Comilla Victorians by six wickets in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on March 1. Earlier, Barishal reached the final for three times but they could not clinch the title of BPL Cricket, the most prestigious domestic cricket meet of the country.
Barishal had to be satisfied with the runners-up trophy. But this time Barishal became champions in the BPL Cricket beating the Comilla Victorians, which team clinched the BPL title for four times.
Captain of Fortune Barishal Tamim Iqbal led his team from the frontline and became the Man of the Tournament as well as the highest run scorer of the this year’s BPL Cricket.
His captaincy, his performance and his behaviour with the teammates and the players of opponent teams made the fans of the Fortune Barishal totally impressed and convinced. Besides, the performance and the skill of experienced batters Mushfiqur Rahim
and Mahmudullah Riyad guided them to achieved the BPL crown.
Owner of Fortune Barishal franchise Mizanur Rahman announced during the BPL Cricket that if Fortune Barishal could clinch the title, the members of Fortune Barishal will go to Barishal with the trophy.
Mizanur Rahman gave a status on his Facebook. He said, “After March 7, we shall arrive in Barishal with the trophy and will celebrate the victory.”
Mizanur also stated through the video of the Facebook, ” I am giving thanks to the all supporters for support us. After March 7, we shall go to Barishal in any day. You will stay with us in our celebration.”
He also said, ” We are inviting all the supporters of the districts of the Barishal Division to take part in our celebration party. When we announced our arrival time please keep in touch with us.”
