A case was lodged with the local PS against some 60 persons In connection with an armed attack on Bangladesh-India Friendship coal based thermo Rampal Power Plant in order to commit a dacoity and killing some ones. Ansar Habildar Shahidul Islam registered the case with Rampal PS in Bagerhat district at Thursday night mentioning the names of 20 and without mentioning the names of 40 others as the plaintiff. One Ashabul Gazi out out of the arrested 12 accused is now under treatment in Khuln Medical College Hospital. On Friday at noon the rest 11 arrested accused persons were sent to Bagerhat jail hajat through the court. They are Manik Shaikh, Fazlu Gazi, Salam Shaikh, Moni Gazi, Nurnobi Shaikh, Ahad Molla, Asabur Gazi, Md. Abdullah, Bayejd Molla, Ruhul Shaikh and and Mazharul. They all hail from the different places of Rampal Upazila.
It was confirmed by Somen Das, Officer-in-charge of Rampal PS. He disclosed, at the night of Wednesday at 11-30 am a gang of armed miscreants attacked Bangladesh-India Friendship Rampal Thermo Power Plant in order to commit a dacoity. As a result, some 5 security guards including Ansar Battalion Habildar Kamal Pash were injured. At that time the members of Ansar battalion opened 30 rounds of gun fire in order for their safety.
As a result, one miscreants sustained bullet injuries on his person and the rest miscreants fled away. Bullet injured miscreant Asabul Gazi (20) was recovered from the spot and was arrested.
