Imon is constantly busy with creating music. On the other hand, Ankhi Alamgir is busy with singing new original songs and performing stage shows. But Emon sometimes sings.
Almost two decades ago, Shouquat Ali Imon and Ankhi Alamgir rendered a duet song.
After a long hiatus, the duo sang a duet song titled ‘Coffee er Peyala’ for Dhruba Guha’s YouTube channel, Dhruba Music Station (DMS). The song is written by Ashique Mahmood, composed by Akash Mahmud, and music arranged by Shouuquat Ali Imon.
Ankhi Alamgir and Imon said that the music video production of the song is completed.
Regarding talking about the song, Ankhi Alamgir told this correspondent, “Quite some time ago. Imon sent me a song and asked the question, will I sing the song? I am so impressed by the song that it is not true. Such a beautiful tune, so melodious, so romantic song — which I like very much. I immediately told the song that I will sing. Imon said in the beginning that I and Imon will sing it as a duet song. A few days later, I gave my voice and finally our all favourite photographer Shithil Rahman made the music video of the song. I had a lot of confidence in Shithil that he will do well and the audience will understand how well Shithil Rahman has done after watching the video. The lyrics, the tune, and the melody – all in all such a melodious song is truly a joy for an artist to find and sing. As I felt peace after singing the song, I felt even more peace after watching the video.”
On the other hand, Shouquat Ali Imon shared his feelings by this way, “But in the beginning I thought Ankhi is perfect for this song. That’s why I sent the song to him. Finally, we both sang the song. My expectations for this song are not a little but a lot more because overall the song is very good. So the passion, love, affection and expectations surrounding this song have increased. I give thanks to Ankhi, also thanks to Dhruba Music Station, Ashique, Akash and Shithil Rahman.”
‘Jol Pore Pata Nore’, ‘Babuji’, ‘Shyam Piriti’, ‘Rajkumari’, etc are popular songs in the voice of Ankhi Alamgir, composed by Shouquat Ali Imon. On March 31, Ankhi and Imon’s new duet song ‘Coffee er Peyala’ will be released on YouTube channel of DMS.
