Coast-guard destroys 10 lakh Yaba pills

Bangladesh Coast Guard on Sunday destroyed over 10.05 lakh yaba pills and some liquor recovered last year by the force’s east zone in Chittagong and different stations and outposts under the zone. The seized drugs and beverages, including 1,549 cans of beer, 196 bottles and 39.2 litres of liquor, were destroyed at the Coast Guard base in Chittagong after disposal of related cases, says a press release.
Home Ministry’s Public Security Division Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral AMMM Aurangzeb Chowdhury and its East Zone zonal commander Capt M Wasim Maksud and top officials of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in Chittagong and other agencies were present.
