LankaBangla, ShopUp ink for food distribution system

In a significant move to enhance the country’s food distribution system, ShopUp, a leading ‘B2B Commerce’ Company through its subsidiary, “Mokam”, has entered into a strategic partnership with LankaBangla Finance PLC.
The collaboration was officially sealed with a signing ceremony at ShopUp’s head office in SKS Tower, Mohakhali, Dhaka recently.
Under the agreement, LankaBangla Finance PLC will facilitate financial support to the business partners associated with Mokam Distribution Centers across the country.
Mokam connects mills and manufactures to small neighborhood shops, creating a seamless network for food and distribution.
It currently serves approximately 3.1 Crore people in Bangladesh who purchase essential food and daily necessities through its network of small shops.
With this partnership, Mokam aims to deliver improved quality products to nearly 8 Crore people by 2026, making them accessible at fair prices, as expressed by Ataur Rahim Chowdhury, co-Founder of ShopUp.
The signing ceremony was attended by other high-ranking officials, including AKM Kamruzzaman, senior executive vice president & head of operations; Mohammad Shoaib, Executive vice president & head of corporate financial services; Sohag Chakraborty, assistant vice president & head of supply chain finance from LankaBangla Finance PLC.
