Runa Laila fascinates audience singing with 100 children

On the occasion of Independence Day last March 27, a special
programme was organised for
the children in the auditorium
of Bangladesh Shishu Academy.
The State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain (Rimi), MP was present as the chief guest in the programme. Shishu Academy Chairman Lucky Inam and Director General Anjir Liton were the guests of honor in this special event and gave a speech to the children and their parents.
At the end of the cultural programme, the chief guest presented the prizes to the winners for their individual excellence.
At 12 noon, on March 27, Runa Laila, a legendary singer of the subcontinent, took the stage as part of the most interesting part of the event where 100 children were on stage with her.
The children performed the song titled ‘Bangladesh Bangladesh’ written by Anjir Liton and composed by Ashraf Babu on the same stage with Runa Laila.
While performing the song, the audience filled the auditorium with great interest and enjoyed the song of hundred children with Runa Laila.
Runa Laila’s performance of children’s songs in harmony created an unprecedented moment.
After the performance of the song, the chief guest looked at the stage in awe. Requests were coming to sing more songs. Many people were saying that there was never such a beautiful performance in the history of Shishu Academy. So, the chief guest thanked everyone behind it.
Sharmin Sultana Sumi worked as a music instructor for the children.
Runa Laila said after the performance of the song, “I never thought that children would present themselves so beautifully. The whole arrangement was so beautiful that I was enjoying myself. And when I sang, I was also surprised to see the performance of the children with me. My sincere gratitude to those who work behind the scenes to keep these kids properly trained. The day will be really memorable for me. I was very happy to see the interest of this generation of children in music. If they practice music regularly, many can become good artists from here in the future.”
Director General of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Anjir Liton told this correspondent, “Honorable Runa Apa came to our National Children’s Academy and she took the stage and also performed with 100 hundred children – That’s how lovely it was for us. It is not really expressed in words. I have my sincere gratitude to Runa Laila Apa. I give also thanks to Sadek Ali Bhai for helping us all the way.”
