SBCCI, bluesign host seminar on sustainability

bluesign, the global total solution provider for a sustainable textile production, organized a ground-breaking seminar titled as “Digital Product Passport (DPP) with bluesign Roadmap” recently at Hotel Renaissance, in collaboration with the Switzerland-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SBCCI).

Executives and sustainability experts from top brands like Ralph Lauren, Lindex, Levi’s, Next, Bestseller, CSS, Ted Bernhardtz, Tesco and Sainsbury’s joined the event.

The gathering served as a platform for the brands operating in Bangladesh to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and collaborate on strategies to advance the textile industry.

In a presentation, Chief Executive Officer of bluesign Rufenacht Daniel said: “We are delighted to host this seminar in collaboration with SBCCI and bring together top brands committed to advancing sustainability in the textile industry.”

Country Manager of bluesign Md Shahan Reza emphasized holistic and verified primary data sources analyzed by industry experts to structure sustainability measures in the textile industry so that efficient and effective measures can be implemented.

Saad Omar Fahim, secretary general of SBCCI and director of Clarichem, said the initiatives of bluesign are a significant milestone in the ongoing journey towards sustainability within the textile industry of Bangladesh.

In the event, president of SBCCI and country manager of SGS Bangladesh Engr. Abdur Rashid promised to harness the collective power of industry leaders and stakeholders, to pave the way for a more sustainable and responsible future.
