The movies ‘Priyotoma’ and ‘Rajkumar’ are two successful commercial movies of 2023 and 2024 respectively. Both movies are produced by Arshad Adnan of Versatile Media.
Just as Kolkata’s small screen’s actress Idhika Paul made her cinematic debut with ‘Priyotoma’, similarly, American actress Courtney Coffey made her debut with the movie ‘Rajkumar’.
Both ‘Priyotoma’ and ‘Rajkumar’ were directed by Himel Ashraf.
Bangladesh’s superstar Shakib Khan acted opposite the two heroines in both the movies.
The movie ‘Priyotoma’ starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul was released on Eid-ul-Azha last year. This movie’s songs, story and impeccable performance of Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul impressed the audience.
The movie was raved about at home and abroad. Recently became the most commercially successful movie ‘Priyotoma’.
Just as Shakib Khan did with the movie, ‘Priyotoma’ Idhika Paul became the favourite actress of Bengali speaking audience.
A few days after the release of the movie, Idhika Paul came to Dhaka with her mother. Idhika enjoyed the movie ‘Priyotoma’ at Bashundhara Cineplex in the capital.
Idhika Paul repeatedly expressed gratitude to the audience of Bangladesh, paying tribute to their love.
Idhika Paul told this correspondent during that time, “At the beginning, I express my gratitude to Arshad Adnan Bhai, the son of Bangladesh’s President Md Shahabuddin Sir, and also owner of the Versatile Media, because I made my debut in the silver screen by acting in the movie ‘Priyotoma’ produced by his production company. And my first movie was so successful that all Bengali speaking audience will know me by one name. Wherever I go – everyone calls me ‘Priyotoma’. As an artiste, this is a great achievement for me. I have with sincere gratitude to my hero Shakib Khan, director Himel Ashraf and the entire team. I have my sincere gratitude to all the viewers of this movie. But the streak of ‘Priyotoma’ still remains. Maybe the scars will remain forever.”
“Meanwhile, the movie ‘Rajkumar’ was also released this Eid. This movie is also doing good business. The audience is watching this movie with great interest. It is also a matter of great joy and pleasure,” actress Idhika Paul also said.
Producer Arshad Adnan said that there are plans to make another movie about Idhika Paul. “I will let you know when the time is right,” he said in this regard.
Meanwhile, actress of ‘Rajkumar’ movie, Courtney Coffey has already hunted effortlessly that the whole Bangladesh now knows her with the movie ‘Rajkumar’.
The US actress Courtney Coffey said in a video message, “The audience of Bangladesh has come to know my name through the movie ‘Rajkumar’. This actually made me proud.”
Last Eid, ‘Rajkumar’ movie was released in 125 theatres across the country.
Meanwhile, more than 200 theaters in the world, including 75 theatres in Canada and America, are playing the movie ‘Rajkumar’, producer Arshad Adnan said.
