In presence of Suborna Mustafa, ‘Golam Mustafa Memorial Award’ given

Remembrance of Bangladesh’s legendary recitation artiste and actor Golam Mustafa and honoring him, since the last eight years the ‘Golam Mustafa Memorial Award’ has been given.

Every year, this honor is awarded in the presence of the worthy successor of Golam Mustafa, his daughter, the legendary actress of the country, Suborna Mustafa.

As usual this year this honor has been given to the country’s eminent cultural personality and freedom-fighter Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu.

This award was introduced by recitation organisation, ‘Tarunner Uchchhash’ from the year 2017 to pay tribute to the memory of Golam Mustafa, the pioneer personality of the recitation industry of Bangladesh.

Every year this recitation organisation gives this award for special contribution in the cultural arena of the country.

On the occasion of Golam Mustafa’s 90th birthday, this award was given to Nasiruddin Yousuff last Friday evening at Music, Recitation and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Noted cultural personalities Ramendu Majumder, Mamunur Rashid, recitation artiste and actor Jayanta Chattopadhyay and noted actress Suborna Mustafa were present at the award giving ceremony.

Bhagyadhan Barua, president of the recitation organisation, presided over the award giving ceremony. Muzahidul Islam presented the event.

On this occasion, the guests handed over Uttariyo, a bunch of poetry books, award medals and souvenirs, and the monetary value of the award is Tk10 thousands to Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, who received the award. The guests honored Nasiruddin Yousuff with the national flag.

Noted recitation artistes Rupa Chakraborty, Shimul Mustafa, Mir Barkat, actress Chitralekha Guho and Saberi Alam, director Chayanika Chowdhury, recitation artistes Dewan Saidul Hasan, Mashkur A Sattar Kollol, Faizullah Sayeed, Nazmul Ahsan, Masum Azizul Bashar, Mojumdar Biplob, Sukanto Gupto, Misbahil Mokar Rabin, Poli Parvin, Mehedi Hasan Akash, etc took part in the programme of remembrance, speeches and recitals on the occasion.

Therefore, Dhaka Shorokolpon, Shilpobritto, Bangla Aamar, and Tarunner Uchchhash also took part in recitation in the event.
