Int’l Women’s Day celebrated in Kishoreganj

The International Women’s Day was observed on Friday in Kishoreganj in a befitting manner like elsewhere across the world with a fresh call to bring an end to repression on women, ensure equal rights and remove all sorts of violence, disparity, discrimination and investment in women.
Kishoreganj district administration including Department of Women’s Affairs (DWA) supported by NGOs, socio-cultural and professional bodies arranged a colourful rally, discussion, Joyeeta reception, postering, handbills distribution and cultural function marking the day.
Police Super (SP) in Kishoreganj, Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PMM (Bar), BPM attended as chief guest and ADC (General) Rubel Mahamud, Civil Surgeon (CS) dr.Saiful Islam as special guests, while Deputy Director (DD) of DWA Mamunur Rashid in the chair. A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate Conference room on Friday morning.
It was addressed among others by Retired Headmaster Khaleda Islam, Senior journalist also CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, Kamrun Nahar of TIB, Mohila Parishad district president advocate Maya Bhowmick, Mohila Awami League district general secretary Bilkis Begum and Nasreen Sultana Etti of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha.
