Martyr’s family member hacked to death

A member of the family of Shaheed Azman Ali was hacked to death by the members of North Sylhet’s much-discussed thief Sarat Sajid’s force in Hatkhola Union of Sylhet’s Jalalabad Police Station. The deceased’s name is Tajul Islam (40). He is the son of Ustar Ali of Dakhri village. He died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital at around 3 pm on Thursday (April 4). Earlier on Thursday (March 31) around 6 pm, four family members including Tajul were killed by the Sajid group. The deceased Tajul is the nephew of Shaheed Azman Ali in the Great War of Liberation. A case has been filed in the Jalalabad police station. The resurgence of reckless Sajid forces has created tension and anger in the area.
Local residents said that ‘Alta’ and ‘Sajid Bahini’ of North Sylhet and Greater Shiber Bazar area were once very popular due to various misdeeds. After the death of Alta Bahini chief Alta and his son, ‘Sajid Bahini’ is regrouping in the area. Earlier, the chiefs of these two forces, Alta and Sajid, were made members of the local Hatkhola Union Parishad on the condition that they be good. After that it went well for a few days, but when the term of the member expired, Sajid Bahini started stealing cows, robbery and selling drugs. Under his leadership the brothers Makhan and Dudu and Hamid become more reckless.
Azbar Ali, the deceased’s uncle, said that Sajid Bahini forcibly seized some land belonging to the family of Shaheed Azman Ali during the Liberation War.
