Among those implicated in the scandal are three Dhaka University students identified as Jotirmoy, Benu Lal Das, and Sujan Chandra Roy, all of whom are enrolled in the university’s law department.

The police have pointed to Asim Gain as the purported mastermind behind the question-leaking syndicate operating in regions including Madaripur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, and Faridpur.
As per police statements, Asim Gain allegedly brokered deals with examinees, charging hefty sums ranging from 10 to 14 lakh taka in exchange for leaked questions. Targeting elderly students, Gain is reported to have orchestrated the dissemination of question papers before exams. Notably, Jotirmoy, one of the arrested students, is identified as Asim’s uncle, underscoring familial connections within the illicit operation.
Authorities revealed that question-solving sessions took place in Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, implicating a total of seven individuals in the scandal. Participants allegedly received financial incentives ranging from 10 to 12 thousand taka per question solved. Moreover, Asim Gain purportedly offered varying payment structures, requiring candidates to pay Tk 2 lakh upfront, Tk 4 lakh upon passing the written test, and Tk 6 to 8 lakh upon final selection.
Asim Gain’s influence extended beyond the question-leaking scheme, as he reportedly boasted of his ability to secure favorable outcomes for individuals in various job tests within the area.
