Entertainment Report :
Promising recitation artiste Samiul Islam Poluck has released his latest recitation album titled Iti Rabindranath. Hindustan Record of India released the album at a grand launching ceremony held at the Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum in the city’s Shahbag area recently.
Iti Rabindranath is a celebration of women power. Rabindranath Tagore depicts woman not just a thing of beauty and joy forever but has gone beyond the outer beauty and portrayed women in various complexities.
In Mohua Kabyo, her sacrifices, strength to face the truth and that strong self-belief and dedication to the right cause has been the subject, the journey of spiritual sanctity that started with Sonar Tori graduates into Gitanjali.
The sharp contrast between the larger than life and the petite woman whose life dwells in the smaller happiness has been very well portrayed in Buddha Kahini and Rajput respectively. Some works also translate the deepest emotions of spiritual connects and life after the body and the soul break ties which have been essayed well in Sonar Tori and Bithika Kavya.
Bhanu Singher Podaboli talks of the mute anguish and the emotions attached with longing and pining for Lord Krishna by Radha. In his Lipika, Tagore reminds us of his inspiration that he drew from the woman he was inspired, whom he met, interacted and then lost when death snatched her away from him yet that togetherness kept inspiring him through his life, such was the strength of the person and her inner self.
This ode to Stree Shakti- the women power sees women who have inspired Tagore greatly like Kadambari Devi, Mrinalini Devi, courtesan Basabadatta, Robert Burn’s works and the eternal Radha the world as mother and the Goddess of strength Maa Durga.
